Begging for zakat
Welcome to the Great Hall of Zakat Beggars!
This blog receives copious amounts of garden variety spam, much of which is filtered out by Akismet before we even see it. But in addition to “regular” spam, we receive an inordinate amount of “zakat spam,” that is, requests from Muslims across the world for donations.
The requests come through as ordinary comments on blog posts, such as this post which at last count has received over 300 comments requesting zakat and this one with over 200 requests. We also receive such solicitations through our “Contact us” page, and through an unpublished email address. It may be beneficial to start cataloging these requests in one place.
Some requests are funny offshoots of traditional spam (“I am an African prince with a bank account…” etc); some are tragic, some are over-labored with absurd back stories for why the zakat is needed, some include bank account numbers, some are candid about their intentions to make Islam dominate, most are scams, and several requests are probably illegal!
Note: We stopped cataloging these messages after August 2013, because they have become too voluminous and time-consuming to continue re-producing here.

As you all know that in this Part of the world we Muslim are seen as the Minority and therefore it is time to show that we also have a voice and also can make Positive impact in our Society and in the Lives of our own MUSLIM ORPHANE CHILDREN / OLD AGED SINGLE MUSLIM ADULT / HANDICAPPED & PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED ONES through our religion (ISLAM).
I, as an Orphan Lady grew up in a General Orphanage home that was ran by the Government. I lost my Both Parents from when I was Age 3 years and I grew up to know how Devoted Muslims my Parents were. This makes me fully know/ understand what it means to be a needy person in the society.
Even tough I have only began to “ Fully” Practice Islam at my present Age of 28 years of Age because they had not been Motivation from and in this Society for Muslim Orphan Children to Grow up in. and This is where my Vision came up from to Establish a Private Muslim Charity Foundation that will Shape the lives of Muslim Orphan Children and Giving a Good Life to the Old Aged Single Muslim Adults / Handicapped & Physically Challenged ones . and at the same time propagate the Virtues of ISLAM in this Part of this world even as “Our Religion” is Minority here.
The Problems we are now URGENTLY Facing presently is Financial / Material Problems in order to make this our Charity Foundation keep moving ahead and not Fade away ( Close Up) .
We have over Stretched our Resources and we are already quickly running out of Resource / Funds to keep the Charity Foundation Moving / Existing. During my stay in KSA for 47 days was a unique opportunity to feel that how Allah and Prophet are Holy Spirit. I pray to Most Kind, Most Merciful, Allah (SWT) letting all Muslims be Makkah and Medina for performing Hajj at least once to each and every Muslim. May Allah (SWT) help us all.
I had a dream in mind before leaving to Makkah and Medina in Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj that if Only owner of the universe Allah helps me, I will establish an Islamic International School in my country Bangladesh to save the upcoming generation from the polluted wind of existing modern culture to the way of peaceful and glorious lives of our children through the right path of education based on Quran and Hadith. I have already initiated and started my dream to turn in reality. After being Makkah and Medina, my intention has become stronger and fair rather than ever. The School’s name has been named “Madinah Islamic International School, Bangladesh” at my home District that combines Curriculum of Islamic University of Madinah al-Munauwarah & Ministry of education, Saudi Arabia and National Curriculum of English Version, Bangladesh. QUIENES SOMOS:
Nuestra representada fue creada mediante el Acuerdo Ministerial No. 501 del Gobierno del Ecuador, cuyo objetivo específico está orientado a crear y precautelar el camino al buen vivir “SUMAK KAUSAY”, nuestra institución logro identificar una grave problemática que afecta a toda sociedad, la misma que consiste en lo siguiente: Como consecuencia del interactuar diario de las personas ecuatorianas y extrajeras domiciliadas en este país, se ha llegado a la conclusión de que: Por cada 10 personas o familias, 9. 9 % poseen problemas de índole transigible; motivo por el cual, este organismo conjuntamente con el Consejo Nacional de la Judicatura, creo el Centro de Mediación y Arbitraje denominado “Centro de Solución de Controversias Jurídico Sociales Camino al Buen Vivir “SUMAK KAWSAY”, mediante el número de registro 158 de 2012, orientada a solucionar de forma oportuna e inmediata esta clase de conflictos en pro de una vida digna y justa, difundiendo la cultura de paz como el medio idóneo para el camino al buen vivir.II
RAZON DE SER DE ESTE PROYECTO
Tal como lo hemos manifestado anteriormente, la sociedad ecuatoriana es muy conflictiva, al punto de que de cada 10 familias 99.9 % poseen problemas de índole transigible, tal como por ejemplo cito a continuación: Materia Civil (herencias, deudas, etc.); Materia Inquilinato (desahucios, cánones de arrendamiento incumplidos, etc.); Materia de la Niñez y Adolescencia(pensiones alimenticias, tenencias, visitas, etc.); Materia Laboral ( desahucios, despidos intempestivos, etc.); Materia Mercantil ( letras de cambio, etc.); Materia de la Ley del Consumidor ( incumplimiento de contratos, mal estado de la mercadería o defecto de la misma); Tránsito ( Acuerdo Preparatorios); Penal ( acuerdos preparatorios y acuerdos transaccionales etc.); Problemas vecinales ( Injurias, etc.), todo esto demanda una gran necesidad de una justicia oportuna y digna, que por la gran carga procesal no puede ser satisfecha por el órgano jurisdiccional competente, al punto de colapsar, esto constituye la rezón de ser de nuestro proyecto.
Para una mejor apreciación se torna necesario citar el siguiente ejemplo real; Cada Juzgado de la Niñez y Adolescencia tramita más de 20.000 causas, y cada día ingresa alrededor de 35 causas diarias, particulares que imposibilita el ejercicio de una atención oportuna; es decir; por ejemplo. María A. demanda a Juan V. el pago de pensiones alimenticias, esta causa recae en el Juzgado No. 1 de la Niñez y Adolescencia, esto implica que María, tuvo que acudir a la defensoría pública, quien también posee una gran carga laboral, el mismo que en 48 horas previo a sita la atienden. Esta causa es ingresada al día posterior a la sala de sorteo de la función judicial, y al día siguiente va al juzgado competente, quien después de 72 horas avoca conocimiento de la causa siempre y cuando el abogado presione, si no dura más. Posteriormente, se fija día y hora para la audiencia que por lo general es después 20 días de presentada la demanda, esto implica que la Sra. María para exigir un derecho tubo que agotar más de 25 días para obtener un resultado. Este ejemplo tiene consecuencias negativas que son: el abandono de causas por tiempo y dinero. Este particular frente a nuestra institución es solucionado en máximo 72 horas; es decir se llega a una satisfacción legal en menos de un tercio del tiempo empleado por el Juzgado competente.
Amas de lo expuesto, se torna preciso que mediante a ley No. Se viabiliza que los Jueces de las Materias antes descrita, que tengan conocimiento que las partes desean llegar a un acuerdo, deben enviar el proceso a nuestra institución, a fin de contribuir con la descongestión del sistema judicial.
Con este antecedente debemos manifestar que nuestra capacidad operacional es de 1000 causas mensuales por cada cede, las mismas que actualmente día a día tiende a crecer, pero solo tenemos un limitante que es el factor económico, ya que en temas de la niñez, transito, nuestra institución no cobra rubros, y en los otros temas son insignificante, que no sobrepasa al 1 % de la cuantían de cada problema. A demás aclaramos que nuestro ámbito de acción abarca también a las instituciones públicas y privadas.III
CUALES SON LOS RECURSOS QUE POSEE NUESTRA INSTIUCIÓN.Nuestra institución fue creada mediante Acuerdo Ministerial No. 501 del Gobierno de la República del Ecuador; por lo que, Actualmente nuestra institución tiene más de 7 años de funcionamiento, por lo que posee varios convenios con entidades públicas y privadas; entre ellos, la autorización del Consejo Nacional de la Judicatura bajo el Registro No. 158; es decir, nuestras actuaciones gozan de legalidad absoluta.
1.- Nuestra oficina matriz esta situada en la ciudad de Quito, en el 2do piso del edificio Ejido, en las oficinas 201 y 202, dirección 10 de agosto y Rio Frio, estas oficinas están totalmente equipada, cuyo valor es de 50.000 dólares americanos.
2.- Poseemos una sucursal totalmente equipada, que se encuentra ubicada en esta ciudad de Quito, entre las calles Patria y 10 de agosto, edificio 3cer piso, donde actualmente funciona nuestro Centro de Mediación, cuyo valor es de 15.000 dólares.
3.- Actualmente estamos por inaugurar una sucursal ubicada en la ciudad de Santo Domingo de los Tsáchalas, en la Urbanización el Portón, ubicada en la AV. 1 calle 7 manzana 31, casa 11, cuyo valor lo asume nuestra institución y haciende a 25.000 dólares.
4.- De la misma forma en la ciudad de Machachi, ubicada en la calle 11 de noviembre y Jorge Mejía, casa Nro. 53, cuyo valor. asciende a 30.000 dólares .
5.- Mediante un convenio con la Universidad Autónoma de Quito, se capacito y formo como Mediadores y Árbitros a las siguientes personas: Lic. Alex Benavides U; Sr. Gabriel Fonseca V.; Dra. Sara Vallejo G.; Dr. David Fonseca Vallejo; Dr. Mario Fonseca Villarreal; Sr. Romeo Calderón; Abg. Franklin Pincha; Dr. Iván García, los mismos que se encuentran registrados en el Consejo de la Judicatura. La formación de nuestros mediadores fue producto de la inversión de 10.000 dólares, los mismos que actualmente se encuentran prestando sus servicios en nuestra institución como Mediadores y Árbitros, respectivamente.
6.- Poseemos un equipo de notificaciones compuesto por los señores: Dr. Winston Vaca; Carlomagno Fonseca, cuyos gatos de movilización haciende a los 700 dólares.
7.- Los pocos egreso obtenidos de esta actividad son reinvertidos en el proyecto de conservación denominado “ GOTA DE VIDA”, ubicado en el noroxidentede quito, compuesto de 59 hectáreas de bosque primario subtropical, cuyo valor haciende a 80.000 dólares americanos.
Con todo lo antes expuesto se puede decir que el capital de nuestra institución haciende a DOCIENTOS DIES MIL SETECIENTOS DOLARES AMERICANOS (210.700 $)IV
PROPUESTA CONCRETA:
Con todo este antecedente, sabrá que actualmente nuestro proyecto ya está funcionando, pero necesita su colaboración para mejorar, ya que nuestra proyección es ampliarnos a todas las capitales de provincia de nuestro país; es decir, 26 cedes más, con una capacidad operacional de 1000 causas mensuales dando un promedio anual de 12.000 causa mensuales por cada Centro de Mediación y Arbitraje, dando un estimado de DOCIENTAS OCHENTAMIL (280.000) casusas anuales; es decir, beneficiando a más de UN MILLON CUATROCIENTAS CUARENTA MIL ,( 1´444.0000) personas anualmente.
La inversión económica radica en los siguientes puntos: Sucursales en las 24 provincias 390.000 dólares; Formación de 10 Mediadores y Arbitro por centro 26.000 dólares; inmobiliaria de oficina 78.000; gastos administrativos 100.000, mantenimiento del bosque primario 80.000; consecuentemente la inversión requerida es de SEICIENTOS SETENTA Y CUATRO MIL DOLARES ( 644.000 $), de los cuales la Fundación tiene invertidos en el proyecto DOCIENTOS DIES MIL SETENCIENTO, dólares americanos ( 210.700 $)
Por esta razón la cantidad que pedimos como ayuda económica para seguir funcionando es de CUATROCIENTOS SECENTA Y TRES MIL TRECIENTOS DÓLARES AMRECIANOS (463300$)V

• We are arranging wedding ceremonies for poor girls. In this task we are fulfilling their basic needs and we are also arranging events in which we can manage to arrange ceremonies for more than 20 girls at a time
• .We are also giving poor people free medication in those places where getting cure is not easy like in rural areas of Pakistan. We have set mobile dispensaries where up to date medical help is available. We are also availing free ambulance services and we will make free hospitals in rural areas.
• We are providing poor children free education by making free schools and providing them with school supplies such as uniforms, books, pick and drop facilities etc.In Pakistan many poor girls are not getting married because of their financial conditions parents do everything to fulfil basic needs of their children but there are many of people who have scarce resources they hardly manage to pay bills and purchase food items so arranging marriage for their girls is a very difficult task for them. We are focusing on such families and providing those families suitable arrangements and basic thing for routine use.
In most of rural areas people are facing deaths and severe illness due to unavailability of proper cure and medical services. We are providing mobile dispensaries, free hospitals and free ambulance services to overcome this problem.
Pakistan is one of those developing countries where getting education is very difficult in rural areas. As literacy rate of Pakistan is 57% which is very low even as compared to other developing countries. Education is most important pillar for success the more educated population we have the more success our country will achieve.

I just came back after performing Farz Hajj from Saudi Arabia in 2012. Almighty Allah (SWT) gave an opportunity to see the holy surroundings of The Almighty Allah’s House Ka’bah, and Prophet Muhammad’s Rawda in Masjidul Nababi. During my stay in KSA for 47 days was a unique opportunity to feel that how Allah and Prophet are Holy Spirit. I pray to Most Kind, Most Merciful, Allah (SWT) letting all Muslims be Makkah and Medina for performing Hajj at least once to each and every Muslim. May Allah (SWT) help us all.
I had a dream in mind before leaving for Makkah and Medina in Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj that if Only owner of the universe Allah helps me, I will establish an Islamic International School in my country Bangladesh to save the upcoming generation from the polluted wind of existing modern culture to the way of peaceful and glorious lives of our children through the right path of education based on Quran and Hadith. I have already initiated and started my dream to turn in reality. After being Makkah and Medina, my intention has become stronger and fair rather than ever. The School’s name has been named “Madinah Islamic International School, Bangladesh” at my home District that combines Curriculum of Islamic University of Madinah al-Munauwarah & Ministry of education, Saudi Arabia and National Curriculum of English Version, Bangladesh. Dear All,
First of all, I would like to brief about our situation in details in order to seek for your consideration.
We are terribly stucked in Abu Dhabi, UAE in terms of financial crises – I mean it never happened in our entire life that we are in such condition that we really seek for fund.
We came here in Abu Dhabi to have a better future for our kid, when we came here I was pregnant for 5 months, my husband is doing job as sales executive, and I start hunting for new job because in UAE our survival was difficult – later on I got the job in same company where my husband is working, everything was running fine – suddenly I got pre term labor pains in 7th month and Dr advised to have complete bed rest. At that time our insurance company wasnt facilitating us because of time span of 6 months. So I had to go back to Pakistan – this is the time we started take loan from our company in order to pay our medical bills and airfare because we aren’t earning high salary. We took 5000 AED so I can go back and pay our bills.
In Pakistan the medical is too expensive as well for C section operation, I have been operated with C section, after delivery my baby was in critical condition and they put her on oxygen because as per Dr’s there, her heart beats so faster as compared to normal baby, we start using our credit cards and took loan from our company to save our baby.
When I went to Pakistan I took unpaid maternity leaves from company for 3 months, and after 3 months I have to come back because if I wouldn’t come the job of my husband goes into stake because we work for same company.
Again to apply for the visa of our baby and air fare we needed money for that we took loan again from our personal resource of 7000 AED. We thought to apply for loan from bank to pay all the payment of people and then we will pay monthly to bank, but no bank is giving us loan as our company isn’t listed – we thought of dunia finance but their interest is so high that we cannot afford that either.
Now, we are badly stucked because every is asking for their payments even our company and we aren’t able to pay we are really depressed and frustrated our salary scale aren’t high we are running hand to mouth.
We have to pay 13000 AED to our company

So total we are in debt of 25000 AED – please help us to release our depression we are getting sick day by day we are disturbed and because of us our daughter is also disturbed.

I am emotionally handicapped due to civil war in Somalia.
Presently, I am resident in Toronto for the past 21 years by myself with no family members. My family is in East Africa Dar-Es Salaam, Tanzania, I have been away from my family since 1994; we were separated because of the civil war in Somalia.
I have decided to move to Dar-Es Salaam, Tanzania permanently to join my family, I never took a medication in my life when I was in Africa it doesn’t matter what part of Africa. Now if I go back to Tanzania my personal health problem will improve greatly. I will feel much better.
I am going to Tanzania in order to improve my health condition. I am frustrated, lonely and depressed living in Canada alone without my family I can’t eat properly and I cannot sleep because of the stress, I believe I will be off in Tanzania with my family as I am ill and they can take care of me. I strongly believe my health will improve with my family around;
I lived in Dar-Es Salaam, Tanzania for many years before coming to Canada and that time I was healthy and I never suffered from any disease or illness
I am in need of financial assistance in order to move back to Tanzania, as I am unable to work due to my illness and I cannot survive in Africa as there is no agency or government that can assist me financially.
