Islamic coursework funded by German taxpayers

BERLIN — The German government says it will fund three new university departments for Islamic studies to educate a new generation of imams, school religion teachers and academic researchers.
Education Minister Annette Schavan announced Thursday that the universities of Tuebingen, Osnabrueck and Muenster would get new Islamic Studies departments and grants of €4 million ($5.6 million) each for the next five years.
All three universities have a long tradition of educating religion teachers and academics in Christian theology.
Schavan said she hoped about 400 to 500 students could begin their studies at those universities in the fall semester of 2011.
The minister stressed the need for more German-educated imams and Islamic religion teachers.
The theory is that by funding Islamic education, Germany will be able to foster a more tolerant, congenial brand of Islam than the current radical immigrant flavor. But that’s a high-risk theory that has no track record of success. The students will wear you like a cheap suit and toss you aside when free tuition runs out.
On the other hand, if this is a precursor to banning any Saudi funding of mosques or curricula in Germany, that could be a clever tactical move.

worth to note here is that all three cities (Tuebingen, Osnabrueck and Muenster) are well known for its roaming tablighi missionaries scenes, and are pretty well known to be part in key centers of Muslim brotherhood in Germany …
Tübingen is perhaps the most interesting here to note, because this was the city from where teens were indoctrinated in recent past to blew Frankfurt airport and military installations of American interest..
I think it would be far better ( and theoretically will provide a higher result ) if the govt. of Germany ban the salafi missionaries and salafi stores inside and near tübingen campus (as well as other campus too)

Yes, you got it right :) tablighi are Islamic missionaries, with moto “O’ Muslims be Muslims”, and they play somewhere the central part in behavior controlling..
they target usually the Muslims, but also can pray on teens.. there is no koran interpreation issue when it comes on tablighis, because they do not care about interpretation, they say MUST is to follow and tune the action in sync with 6th century pedophilic-rapist-warlord (yep we know, who he is ;) )
